Welcome to the Maui Chronicle
Been here before? You may go directly to the Posts by clicking “Posts” under the “Pages” heading.
If you are new here, please read the following information:

Aloha,
The Maui Chronicle is an interactive online publication where you can read “Posts” that Contributors have published, and Comments from people who have read the Posts. You may then publish your own Comment, or additional information.
Posts may be:
News Upcoming Events
Information Meeting Notices
Questions Announcements
Your Opinion Articles
Publicity Releases Rumor checking
Correct, add to, or critique items published in other media.
Did you attend an interesting or important meeting or event? This is your chance to be a news reporter, and tell everyone about it. News reports contain the “5 W’s & H” — Who? What? When? Where? Why?, and How? You start with the most important point first, and work down to the least important.
Do you want to express your opinion? You may publish a “Letter to the Readers”. The only parameters here are that you include your real name, address, and phone numbers, and that the Letter must not yet have been published elsewhere. (No, your address and phone numbers will not be published. We just need them to verify that you sent the letter.) Put “Letter to the Readers” in the subject line of an email, and send it to MauiChronicle@hawaiiantel.net .
If you just want to read the Posts of others, and possibly Comment on them, just click the word “Posts” under the heading “Pages” on the top right of this page. As items are published, they are also placed in the “Categories” you see over on the right. There are many more categories than you see now. As Contributors add Posts, more Categories will appear. The Posts and Comments are in chronological order, starting with the most recent first.
The Maui Chronicle also contains “fixed pages”, like the one you are reading now. More will be added for regular columnists and important information. Fixed pages are listed under “Pages” in the upper right.
Two Ways to Publish your Own Posts
< >
1. EASY WAY: Regular Email. This is for people who may wish to publish only an occasional Post. No photos are accepted; text only. Please type directly into your email page. DO NOT use a word processing program like MS Word and then paste into email. And please, no forwards. Posts must be your original work. Be sure to include your real name, address, and phone numbers. (Addresses and phone numbers will not be published.)
You may quote from, or link to, material in other publications, but not reprint them in their entirety, or substantial part. Sorry, we do not accept submissions by fax or snailmail. Put the word “Post” in the subject line and send to: MauiChronicle@hawaiiantel.net.
2.Register as a “Contributor” . This is for organizations and individuals who intend to publish Posts on a somewhat regular basis. Advantages: faster, may include photos, less work for the Moderator. However, you will have to follow an instruction sheet to learn how to do it. To request approval as a Contributor, send an email to MauiChronicle@hawaiiantel.net. Put the words “Contributor registration” in the subject line. State your real name (no anonymous or nickname Posts are accepted), the general subject matter of your intended Posts, and phone numbers for both day and evening contact.
One final word on publishing Posts: Integrity. Please do not submit libel, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, or advertising.
Please add the Maui Chronicle to your Bookmarks or Favorites list, and check every day for new Posts — including yours!
